Attention Celtics Nation, Rondo fans, and anyone one else who’s been following the Celtics this season. I’m assuming all bandwagon fans from 2008 have already jumped off board by now, but you are included also. Boston is no longer an ELITE team in the NBA. Yesterday, I realized they simply cannot compete with the young guns of OKC and MIAMI, not Chicago either, and they probably can’t even handle the new look the Knicks. They are worse than them statistically, at two games under .500 and barely holding on to the 8th spot in the East. Hopefully they can at least make the playoffs this year, but lets be real, they have zero chance (as it stands) at winning an NBA title this year and that’s all that matters to them.
This is the first time the Celtics have not been considered a title contender since 07 when the Big Three first came to Beantown. There is a bright side to their decline, however. We can now all look to the future which is promising. It’s time to rebuild. You can say they’ve been preparing for the this all along. How else can you explain all the recent trades/trade rumors. Call me crazy, but I can see them making more big moves soon like trading away 2 of the big three (not Rondo obviously) to get a legit Center (Dwight, Pau) and then just maybe drafting Austin Rivers in the upcoming draft. You know Doc can make that happen…..And just like that the Celtics are back and more exciting than ever for 2012-13. All we have to do is take an L for this year and be patient.
